I also have $4.5 Million US Dollars at Eco-Bank here in Burkina Faso and i instructed the bank to transfer the fund to you as foreigner that will apply to the bank after i have gone, that they should release the fund to him/her,but you will assure me that you will take 50% of the fund and give 50% to the orphanages home in your country for my heart to rest.

Respond to me immediately for further details since I have just few days to end my life due to the ovarian cancer disease, hoping you will understand my point

Miami Political Promises are full of...

I see a lot of crazy stuff, as you might imagine while on my adventures in Florida. Some of the funnest things, I see on the highway. Take this truck for example, that I spotted while driving through Miami the other day.
. This truck is from AES portable sanitation. Notice the caution sticker. "Caution: this vehicle is full of political promises!"

The Lost Churches on the East Coast

When hurricane Sandy struck the East Coast, even houses of worship were not spared. A local television station interviewed a woman from New Jersey and asked how the loss of churches in the area would affect their lives. Without hesitation, the woman replied, "I don't know 'bout all those other people, but we ain't gone to Churches in years. We gets our chicken from Popeye's." The look on the reporter's face was priceless. They live among us, AND THEY VOTE. Now, do you understand how we got our president?

I love Crazy comments bwahahahaha

One of the best reasons for writing a blog are the colorful comments. Most are great, even helpful. Occasionally you hook a troll and often the spammers find you. Well my post that I published this afternoon about the Spring 2013 fashion trend: structured purses has recieved some interesting spam. Somebody spammed me with a link to a DIY tutorial on how to make a burlap shopping bag lol. Not exactly high fashion but a necessity that can be purchased at the checkout of Whole Foods for a buck or two and save your time and energy for your quest to find your perfect new handbag for Spring!

Spring 2013 fashion trend: Structured purses

Some ladies collect shoes. I am a proud purseaholic. Spring gives me an excuse to find new treasures to add to my collection but sometimes, I break ou some old favorites. This Spring we will be seeing structured purses. We saw some oversized bags again but the trend this year focuses on the small handbags and cluches. This stunning little number is one of my favorites. I found this gem in a boutique in Hawaii a few years ago. This purse is made by Shiraleah and it is hand-crafted from Mother of Pearl. Each piece is sewn onto the bag, even on the bottom. It is lined in a luxurious brown silk. I have been known to carry this bag with just about anything from jeans to a formal event. It is always garners compliments and is a real conversation piece. This is a beautiful, exotic looking handbag and very unique. I have yet to see anyone else with the same bag in Miami. And that's what fashion is all about, being unique and showing off your personal style.

Four More Years of Barack Obama

By Annamarie Ricci Message to Barack Obama; the United States government is the servant of the people. It isn’t the other way around. “Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. “ When you talk of disarming law abiding citizens you are making them servants of the government. There already exist measures to prevent the mentally unstable, children and criminals from legally owning weapons. Legally is the operative word here. Criminals will always find a way to get them. And you cannot take away the rights of all citizens based upon what MAY happen with that individual. You cannot punish every law abiding citizens due to the actions of criminals. One size fits all does not work in fashion and it does not work in law. This government does not have a crystal ball, but it clearly does have an agenda. Mr. Obama points to the Sandy Hook Shooting as a prime example of why such “gun control” measures are necessary. But accused killer, Adam Lanza was not the owner of any of the weapons involved. He was not the legal owner of any weapons. So as tragic as that incident is, the point is moot. Let’s also not forget that the supposed assault weapon used was found locked inside the trunk of the vehicle. History tells us that disarming citizens is the first step in establishing fascism. History also tells us that when rights are suppressed, crime increases. Did you know that in the state of Florida, since the carry and conceal laws were passed, the homicide rate has averaged 36% lower than before those laws were passed. Believe me, Florida is a crazy place so this really is saying something. In the states where guns are restricted, the homicide and violent crime rates are much higher. The Sandy Hook Shootings happened in Connecticut, a state with the strictest gun laws in the country. I am not what you would term a gun fanatic by any means. What I am against is losing rights and freedoms. Remember “Don’t tread on me?” Well, Mr. Obama has repeatedly wiped his size 11 Cole Haan’s s off on Old Glory and the constitution. I do believe that we as citizens do have the right to protect our families and ourselves from being victimized. My neighbor has the right to protect himself and his family. And I say that if Mr. Obama, since he does not have enough votes to pass his gun confiscation bill, should do so by Executive Order, then Mr. Obama should fire the Secret Service. If I cannot have the right to protect my family and myself then our President who serves us-and not the other way around, should not be able to either. We should all be in the same boat. It is nothing but lip service for someone who has round the clock armed guards for himself and his family, to tell the citizens that we are not entitled to that same security. Who can we call for help? The police? Half those people don’t do their jobs now and it will be the police who will be expected to enforce the confiscations. If Obama confiscates the guns, your home invaders will be showing up with their illegal weapons and we will have what? Bricks? Rope? A candlestick? Now is the time for the people to stand up against the communist movement that is growing in the United States. My grandparents immigrated to this country to escape this sort of abusive government to make a better life for our family. I know they would not approve of this and no doubt would be looking into alternatives. I realize that this topic may surprise you, coming from a fashion blog but life is about much more than fashion. My political position may cause some readers to dislike me or even think to post negative comments or send me nasty emails. Frankly, I would rather piss off some folks on the internet who read this post-at least I have made you think about real life issues instead of everybody staying distracted by your computer, your cell phone, texting, or the latest on the Kardashians. Remember, the likes of Hitler rose to power while German citizens were distracted and while they had complete trust in their Government. I am not inclined to have any dialogue with detractors. My opinion is just that-my opinion. If you support this President, and you are okay with all of the rights that citizens have lost so far, during this administration, then goody for you. I do not and at least in this particular moment, I still have that right. Tomorrow may be a different story. “..that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the people to alter it or abolish it and to institute new government. Yes indeed. The need for REAL change is upon us.

Annamarie Ricci from Miami fashion blogger to magazine editor

Annamarie Ricci I’m feeling quite nostalgic today. Nothing like surviving a near death experience. Last week, I had a flare up of asthma. This was one of the worst ever. The flare up was brought on by a cold which developed into bronchitis. So at about 5:30 am, I woke up and couldn’t breathe. My rescue medications weren’t working. Within minutes I went into Status Asthmaticus which is the most severe and often deadly form of an asthma attack. The paramedics were summoned to my home as I was starting to turn colors and lose consciousness. A lot goes thru your mind when you really believe these are your last minutes on earth. True that I feel like I went a few rounds in the ring, but that is a small price to pay. Since this terrifying incident, I have been looking back on my life. I’m grateful for what I have accomplished and for what I will accomplish in the time that God should see fit to give me.
Like I said in a previous post, the scope of my blog is different from the other top fashion blogs in Miami and south Florida. Despite the claim on the internet that Miami only has 26 fashion bloggers lol, Miami actually has more than 26. Miami has so many more diverse and unique fashion perspectives than this. Perhaps these 26 are twenty-somethings and that would come as no surprise to me. The majority of fashion bloggers are teenagers or in their 20’s. It’s easy to look hella good when you’re in you’re twenties. Frankly, there is no excuse not to. Looking great when you get a bit older takes savvy. ..or maybe it takes spackle… When you’re young, everything is in the right place, and you can get away with wearing the most garish shades of eyeshadow. Can’t do that after 30 + That great foundation that you have been using for years, suddenly isn’t your friend. That’s why I am here and that is why I created this blog. I have been a fashion and style blogger for the past 8 years here in Miami and south Florida and that experience has landed me the position of editor in chief of Tropic Style Magazine. Everybody who writes for the magazine is older, affluent, creative, chic, animal worshippers, well educated and well traveled and just all around a great bunch of folks.
Miami isn’t going through any sort of fashion metamorphosis. It has always been a fashion capital of the United States. Modeling agents have known this for decades. Fashion models have always been tailored to the specific markets: LA, New York City, Chicago and Miami. Obviously different looks to appeal to the different markets but Miami has always been a major market. All that has really changed is that the fashion industry has embraced the blogger. In the past, blogs were not considered reputable but designers and manufacturers finally figured out that fashion bloggers have a lot of influence on consumers. And it is wonderful to see that so many varied opinions have gained respect.
I started out as a child model and actress in Illinois. I modeled throughout my life, through college. I attended a professional modeling school. I learned professional make up artistry there and landed a job as a make up artist for Revlon. Unfortunately, it was then that I discovered that I am terribly allergic to certain cosmetics and perfumes and I was forced to quit my dream job after being diagnosed with a chemical form of pneumonia and asthma. So I flew out to Las Vegas with the support of the wonderful Italian family that I lived with while attending college. I stayed in Vegas for several weeks which was the perfect climate to recover from my illness. But the asthma never went away.
Going back to my early modeling experiences, I recently found that someone uploaded a television commercial for P.G Berland’s Paint and Wallpaper City on YouTube. Unfortunately, the commercial they uploaded is the one that shows still photos of their products. The ones that I was in, featured a male comedic actor wearing a suit. He was portraying Al Berland, one of the founders . It was Al and Fred who owned that company. Fred died in 1988 and Al died of cancer in 1994. The actor said “we won’t be undersold. We sell cheap!” and the director told us all to stop and listen when we heard the word “cheap.” This was an all day filming. I was very, very young at the time and so I was right in back of the actor, standing to his left. There were several extras who would portray my father and we were shopping in the store. The commercials were all filmed at their store, at Six Corners in Chicago, during business hours. A section of the store was roped off for the filming so we had one whole isle. Both Al and Fred were in the background pretending to be shoppers. The bloopers were hilarious. We were just instructed by the director to drop whatever we were doing when the actor said “we sell cheap!” I believe it was Fred Berland who was carrying a gallon of paint in each hand and on cue, he dropped those cans on the floor. They made such a ruckus when they hit the tiled floor that everybody including the actor, turned around and looked back to see what happened. Those rogue paint cans rolled across the floor and knocked over the lights and the microphones all came crashing down. I sure wish that I could find a copy of that! My mother worked for this famous Chicago store which lead to her starting her own interior decorating business and that’s what she did up until her death. I lost my mother very early on in life as she died tragically from heart disease and brain cancer. The Berland brothers were truly pioneers. They set the standard for which all other home improvement stores follow today. (Say, FTC, does a paid endorsement from the 80's still apply if the store has long since been closed? Just checking. I sure wouldn't want to be in violation of your disclosure laws-my God how times have changed.) But I digress...often.
My life has been one heck of a ride so far. I have traveled around the world and had the opportunity to know some very famous people like Madonna, The Beach Boys, the Osmonds, Ky-Mani Marley, Lou Gramm and the guys from Foreigner just to name a few. I’ve hung out at some legendary places like the Versace mansion. That’s all quite an accomplishment from a little girl who grew up in a military family of humble means.
These days I teach the young girls how to be fashion models. I teach them everything from how to put together a compelling portfolio, what to carry in your model’s bag, how to develop their own public image and style, how to approach agents, how to develop charisma on the runway. I’ve been doing this privately for a many years and now the time has come to consider opening a public model’s workshop. But, in all honesty, I enjoy working with people one on one. So, even if you don’t really want to become a professional model, or at least decide that you don’t want to pursue it, you still come away with looking like a professional model. And you’re going to learn some of this here on my blog, especially how to develop personal style, what to wear, what to purchase, where to purchase . I could write all day long about my passion for modeling and personal style lol so I hope that you will bookmark my blogs and Tropic Style Magazine.

The Legalities of "reblogging"

I notice that the "reblog this" button is conspicuously missing from the Wordpress navigation bar. That's because pilphering content off the internet is illegal. Even if there is no notice of copyright posted, you can be sure that the content belongs to somebody. If you did not create it yourself, then you shouldn't use it. If you do not have a license agreement, then you can be liable for damages as much as $150,000 per violation. There is the rule of automatic Copyright. Any intellectual property legally belongs to the person who created it, upon it's creation. Yet Wordpress was inviting other users to violate international copyright laws and therefore could have legal implications for Wordpress. The Copyright owner is the only one who controls the publishing, copying and distribution of their work. I notice that many bloggers erroneously believe that if they provide a meager link back to where ever they took the content from,is enough to prevent a Copyright lawsuit. It is not. In fact, pointing to the source is an admission that you did not create the material yourself and it could get you into more trouble. So think before you right click. If you take anything that does not legally belong to you from Tropic Style Magazine or from any my blogs, you will be met with a legal notice

Why I love being a Miami Fashion Blogger

Why I love Being A fashion blogger By Annamarie Ricci When I moved to Miami from Illinois eight years ago, I was excited not only to never have to shovel snow again, but also to get involved with it’s legendary fashion scene. I was not disappointed! I moved from one fashion capitol to another. I came here expecting to write about beachwear all year long. Our legendary beaches of the American Riviera are a large part of our culture but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Miami fashion was much more than bikinis and flip flops. The first thing about Miami that I noticed was the usage of colors on building exteriors that would never fly in the midwest. The pink coral stuccoed walls combined with the blue glass give this city it’s playful, exotic spirit which has become it’s trademark. These cotton candy pastels I speak of are most notably found on the historic Art Deco buildings of South Beach. Living in Miami is like living in another country. It’s a place where it is okay to break the rules-creatively speaking. How great it is to see this freedom reflected both on the runways of Miami and street style. Fashion bloggers or fashion journalists as I prefer to be called, isn’t celebrated like it is here either. In Illinois if you write a fashion blog it’s a hobby and really goes no further. But Miami has not only embraced fashion bloggers like me, the city has turned us into A-list celebrities. Imagine my culture shock. I come here and it’s like here’s an invitation to Nikki Beach; here’s your front row seat at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Beauty products to sample and review, the exclusive parties-yacht parties people, private resorts and autographed shirts from rock stars like Madonna. It’s crazy! And the Miami fashion scene keeps on growing. It is my hope to see SoBe as it was when Gianni Versace ruled. I never started writing about fashion to be anyone other than myself. I write about fashion because I love fashion. I wanted to reach out to others and share my own personal style. Fashion is a very personal thing and that can be a difficult thing for some people because you are opening up and sharing so much of yourself with complete strangers on the internet. I believe that an explanation for the popularity of the fashion bloggers lays with the designers themselves. Designers are paying attention-very close attention to what everyday fashionistas are wearing to work, on dates, on a day at the mall. They want to know what young women are wearing, what they are buying and most importantly what we are recommending. So blogging on the internet is a powerful thing. PR companies have people who do nothing but search the internet for these influential voices and opinions. Miami’s style mavens have the power to influence consumers and yes, even influence designer’s collections because we are a reflection of our generation We are at the malls and at those make up counters. So we see and we pay very close attention to not only what people are wearing but How she wears it. And we bridge that gap between the manufacturers and the consumers. Sometimes, being in the middle is the best place to be. I always understood the power of the internet. But only Miami seems to really get it. Fashion bloggers are invited to get up close to designers at shows and events. Not so long ago, going beyond the fabled velvet ropes was reserved for privileged few. I know this from my own experience as a successful fashion model. There was a time when those runways were lined with nothing but fashion critics, buyers, socialites and celebrities. Now you’re likely to see the everyday girls here too-the bloggers who are not only telling others about the upcoming trends but also how to put the pieces together. For me, the creation Tropic Style Magazine is a dream come true. I am not a lone journalist but rather one of several talented voices writing here. I get up every morning and absolutely love what I do. How many people can really say that? I live in one of the most beautiful tropical paradises in the world. I wake up to the smell salty ocean air and my heavenly gardenias. Every day is a blessing and an adventure that I never take for granted. I am surrounded by creative people who inspire me to be my creative best. Obviously, Tropic Style discusses much more than fashion which will also give me the opportunity to share my other passions, including tropical gardening, animal welfare, and miniatures. Before this article turns into a book on fashion blogging, I am going to sign off, take off my Jimmy Choos, slip into a relaxing bubble bath and get ready for another day of high fashion adventures in paradise.
